I just took delivery of two Mooradian bags custom made for me (7 string, long deco headstock on 17" body) and these were the first two bags from the newly relocated facility. Mooradian had long held the reputation for being the bag of choice for just about any portable instrument, and after the pandemic, there was a lot of re-organizing and relocating. Emily is now taken over operations and taking orders for gig bags of any configuration. These bags are IMHO the best available professional gig bags, and I travel/tour with my most prized archtop, very comfortable doing so.
There was a time when entire bands were outfitted with Mooradian bags. Glad to see they're back!

Just something to keep in mind if you're looking for a travel bag you can trust.

That's great to know - thanks! There's no model or price info yet on their website, so I'm interested to see how their prices now compare to Mono & Glenn Cronkhite.

I just got home after being on the road. That bag was a part of my peace of mind the whole time. I hang it up tonight after it's been all over overheads, luggage handlers, tossed in taxi trunks, jostled through holiday crowds and there is no other bag I can imagine being so comfortable at any price. But write to Emily

And at this point, everything she does is custom, so you say what you need in the way of size (my 15" 7 string to my 17" 7 string long headstocks, no problem). Now if somebody orders custom specs on a guitar, they get the option of the custom Mooradian bag. Very classy.

Just came across this thread and wondering if Mooradian is still in business? The link above dead-ends and their FB page hasn't been updated in several years. Anyone know?
Thanks!

Did you write an email to Emily? I'd been in touch with her not too long ago and she's doing beautiful custom basis gig bags as good as or better than ever.

I believe they have been out of business for some years now. They did nice bags for 2000, i had four of them, but they don't really compare with the modern ones, plus last time i checked they would cost a lot more than Mono, Reunion Blues etc which i didn't think was viable. No hard foam, no support for the neck, nothing for the low strap pin, a plain front department, no protection if you put your guitar down kind of abruptly or something is placed on top of it. Sorry but frankly today you can get better bags for 50$

They were back in business in 2023, but seem to have disappeared again. I had two of them. The first lasted quite a while (something like 15 years), but eventually fell apart (various tears, broken zipper). The second one better straps, and more pouches, but it fell apart more quickly (the foam padding turned into dust in maybe 10 years, IIRC). Functionally, they were very good and fairly protective for a padded cloth bag. But I agree that modern reinforced bagsa Reunion Blues or Mono are another league altogether.

I just took delivery of a Mooradian bag for my 335 in October 2024, Emily was great to deal with and answered all my emails promptly. And the bag is even better than the old one I used to have 20-something years ago.
I hope they're still at it

Could you maybe post some photos of it? I went through my Berklee days with my 335 in it, and it held up great, four years of Boston winters. I'm wondering if they've made any upgrades as the years passed..

I disagree. Mooradian bag is the best I had for on the go urban commute. If you need just grab and go for a gig in the city I would prefer Mooradian for sure. Mono is too heavy and bulky, but good if you touring I guess. Also I use it for air traveling. But like I said, for a qucik commute Mooradian is the most comfortable bag. Lots of pockets and handles in the right places, and padding is superb.

To each his own. My Mono has long outlasted either of the Mooradians I had and is not heavy. My Reunion blues is, though.
