Given all the Seveny Seven love over at the For Sale side of things, here's my latest visitor. Wow, what a nice guitar. This Albatross was around my neck all night on Sunday. An oddball - I looked around and found only double cutaway versions of this model. Has anyone seen another single-cut version? [ed: I did find a blonde one in Japan. I wonder how many more are out there?]

Never ever seen one. But that guitar is a rarity. It’s amazing what guitar contacts you have in Canada!

Does the label actually say Albatross, or could it be a Stork with a stop-tailpiece (maybe custom?)? It seems like there are a fair number of one-off/custom variants of Seventy-Seven's out there. E.g., I have a Hawk Jazz Deep with one pickup and block inlays.

Here's the label.

From the Japanese SOAR website:

There was a gorgeous Seventy Seven Koa top semi-hollow posted on this site a while back that made me weak in the knees.
Maybe the owner will post a pic for this thread.

Oh, I wanted that one so badly but had just gotten a Tokai ES and there was no way I could swing it. But that was the nicest looking Exrubato I think I've ever seen.
