    Hi guys,

Maya ES-175, a 43 years old japan instrument appeared in my area. I haven't checked it yet, but it is in flawless and original condition reportedly. What is the reasonable price, please? Any other info and opinions are appreciated!

    Thanks!

Hi. I used to own one of these. Very good copy of the later ES175s. Well built. Good sound and playability, versatile, but not great acoustically. I advertised mine at £650 and sold it for about £500 if I remember correctly.

Thanks for quick reply! Now (event after reduction) the price is approx. $1000. It still seems to be too much (you know, I do not need the guitar ).
I like the wooden bridge (not TOM), by the way.

The bridge is easy, and cheap, to change. I would never buy, nor ignore, an archtop just because of the bridge. I know nothing of that particular brand, and while it might be very good, IMO that price is far too optimistic. You can easily buy an equivalent for much less. It's your money, though, and only you can decide if it's worth the asking price.

One of these has very recently sold on Ebay UK for £500. I was tempted! Do the Mayas have a soundpost?

Hey guys, thank you for your thoughts. I just tend to older instruments (without any sensible reason), so after your advices I'm not buying it. I have three more similar guitars of thar price range (Godin 5th Avenue, Cort LCS2, Eipiphone Joe Pass II).
    Cheers!
