I love the DV Mark Little Jazz amp and want to buy one, but honestly, I don't like the white color. I know they make them in black as well, because from time to time I've seen them for sale, but I can't seem to find them now that I'm looking. Does anyone know anything about this? Why can't the black Little Jazz amps be found?

ISTR that was a local thing back when they were first introduced. There was black, and also white with red corners. I would have preferred the latter. But all I've seen in the US have been white with black trim. I suspect, but don't actually know, that there was some initial experimentation with the market, and they soon settled on one version. I don't mind the white color, it has sort of grown on me, but it took awhile to get over the preference for plain black.

    It was a limited run.

I've got a black one a few years ago, when I could still choose and, yes, they only seem to have white ones, where I got it from, now.
But I have to say I like the sound to the point that I wouldn't mind getting a white one if I were to lose mine.

P.S. I guess a white amp is a bit like a white shirt, or a white car... they get dirty really easily...

Unfortunately at this time in my life I have a good many things that "deserve the best" and I have a pretty decent amp for most uses. I was thinking of the Little Jazz for those times when, well, I just need a little amp. But I don't have $1000+ to spend, nowhere near it. We have several "money pits" right now in our lives, and I can't spare the luxury of an expensive amp.

Remember folks, no white amps after Labor Day. You wouldn’t want to be caught in an amp fashion faux pas.

    I had two. Both failed.

Lawson - you are thinking about the Little Jazz in the same way that I did. It's ideal for jamming, taking to a jazz camp, or even to coffee house gig. The tone really is great, the reverb is acceptable, and I find I am able to get reasonable volume without distortion. I never did think about the color. The grill is very cool and may counter-balance your color preference!

    Yes, I have a JazzAmp 112 and a Bud 6.
But I also have a Little Jazz, and I like it - and occasionally even prefer it to the Bud.
I wouldn't describe mine as 'white'; I think of it more as 'pale blond'.
Now, if Henriksen made a Bud 8 with a matching extension cabinet, that might be the only amp I'd own!

Oh, and I should mention: my 1st LJ was DOA, and I returned it to MF for another one; the 2nd one has been working flawlessly for years.

White wall tires. You have to clean them with WBW.

I really like my Little Jazz- it's a great inexpensive grab/go amp. Mine gets used for small gigs and for most of my rehearsals. It has a big sound for such a small amp.

I have a Little Jazz along with four other amps, love it. Especially the direct-out into an audio interface when recording.

Used the LJ with a 19pc big band yesterday. Cranked it to 2 o'clock on the volume control. Guitar full up. Flat on a concrete floor with 3 feet of empty space behind it, in front of the back wall.

It was loud enough and sounded great. Couldn't remember why I'd been unhappy with it.

The room was not that big .. the band took about as much room as the audience. Hard surfaces. Rhythm section against the back wall, so the horns are pointed away from the rhythm section.

In my other big band 17pc, the room is huge, floor is vinyl tile. Flat on the floor, but nowhere near a wall. And the LJ sounds weak. Not a lot of reflected sound from the port?
No audience usually, so the band sets up kind of in a square. Rhythm section opposite the trumpets -- I'm near the corner, so trumpets and bones are kind of pointed in my direction. Saxes, not so much.

Point is, the amp is heard in context, and the context is quite a bit different in these two setups.
