Excited! Should fit the bill for all my needs these days. First SS amp since my old Evans.

Looking forward to hearing your impressions.

I'll report back when it lands.

I think a new henriksen 10 would be nice, and look forward to your opinion.

The Bud 10 arrived safe and sound. It is everything I'd hoped for and more. I've thrown everything I have at it. Fender D'Aquisto Elite, Custom Shop Tele Thinline, Collings I35, Taylor 522CE, LEH Offset 5 bass, US Lakland 4451m bass. All passed with flying colors. This little amp came as advertised. Very compact. Great build quality. Very usable EQ. Great tone with settings at noon (flat) to my ears. Shines with the FDA and especially with the Tele Thinline and Collings.Drop the low mid to around 9:00 with the presence at noon and I get a bit of fender scoop. The reverb is better than decent. Not spring but good enough. The Taylor sounds wonderful with a bit of boosted mids.
If my needs were only guitar I'm sure I'd be satisfied with the Bud or Blu 6 but I play bass every other Sunday in a mid size Worship setting. We use in-ears and DI to the board to keep stage volume down. I'm not much of a fan of in-ears /Aviom for bass. With this I can still line out and have a "monitor" for myself. I wanted something light thats powerful enough to not have to drag around my regular bass rig. I'm confident his little 10 will work quite well. Obviously, it's best as a jazz guitar amp but I'm impressed with the versatility.
As far as comparing the 6.5" and 10" ( I've spent some time with a friends Blu 6) I can't really tell much of a difference. Maybe the 6 has a bit more "attack" if you will. Like it gets there quicker lol. I prefer the 10 for the bottom end fullness. Nice, thick and smokey Ha! But that could be just my lame impression. I'll have to A/B the two at some point.

. Thanks for the update. I'd really love to hear a A/B with the 6 got my sites on that model. Enjoy you new amp!

Congrats! Great amps, both the 6 and the 10.
Btw I don’t know if it’s a typo but if you want a fender sound you need to drop the high mids (~1khz) down to almost zero on the henriksen. This is the closest you can get to approximating the scoop of the fender amp. I really wish the mid knobs had adjustable frequency ranges since the fender scoop is actually slightly below 1khz.
Dropping the low mids doesn’t produce a fender sound; it produces the sound of 1” driver taped onto a shoebox lid as a baffle.

I have the 6, 10, and 12. They are all fantastic. The 6 though really blows my mind. So much tone out of a little box. They defy logic.
The 10 can handle any size room and the 12 is a Twin killer.
-
You are correct. I actually had both mids dropped to the 8:00 "position" I was messing with all the EQ knobs to hear any nuances. I mean it's not a Fender tube sounding amp really. Even with the high mid dropped out completely. But to my ears with a Tele I heard familiarity. I'll try your suggestion taking the high mid out or nearly.

Vinnie, does the 6 sound good at low volume? In addition to bringing it around for jams etc, which I'm sure it's loud enough for, I plan to use it in my office- the big boys live downstairs in the studio, but I like to practice upstairs at low volume at night.

These new Class D Henriksens are the best SS amps for jazz guitar that I have heard. I have now sold my last Polytone, my last AER and my last Acoustic Image amp. IMO, the Henriksen does it better. But I also have a Quilter, which IMO gets a different, more tube like sound than the Henriksen. And probably out of nostalgia more than anything else, I still have a tube amp in the toolbox (1964 Princeton).
Almost all of my gigs are played on one of the Henriksens. If you are only going to get one Henriksen, my advice is the Bud 6.

It sounds fantastic at low bedroom volumes. I have found the 6 really shines if you put it on a small stool like a foot or 2 off the ground. I can’t think of a better amp at low volumes. The little sucker can crank too.

I agree the bud 6 sounds better elevated or wedged to point upwards. Here’s a functional stool you might consider using. I ended up putting my tone tubby 4040 in the RE. Sounds incredible.

Thom Brown the owner of Tone Tubby lives near me and he let me borrow a bunch of speakers for a shootout. My detailed reviews are in this thread (link below), including sound clips. My high level thoughts are that they’re wonderful. Some are darker than others. In the right amp they sound wonderful.

Congrats on the Bud 10. I have a Bud 6, 10 and Forte
.
The 10 should work fine for bass. Funny story 3-4 years ago i went to this jam and the upright bass player forgot his amp..LOL..ya how? it happens, anyway all i had was my Bud 6, we both plugged right into the bud 6, This was a quartet too, with drums and sax..sounded great, bass player couldn't believe it.

Thank you!

Yes, it is!

hi Karlos, I can't answer your question as I am unfamiliar with that Yamaha guitar. I find the 10 is best suited for an inherently bright guitar.
