'Up North' Gibson Rumors & Discoveries

While on a quick trip northward, I stumbled upon a hobby guitar seller and of course he and I got to talking Gibsons etc etc....When I mentioned some of the early 1990's models I'd never heard they'd offered, but which have shown up for sale - Western Sky and Flattop w/ Banjo Inlays - he said ' Gibson right now will make any model you want - - you contact Nashville and yeah you'll wait 2 years for it, but they will build it. "

????

So, has anyone else heard this ?

Curious more than anything I guess......
