Nah - it was only my hand. Maybe if it had hit a more important organ......

The skin on the back of my hand and wrist is now peeling off, but the underlying surface is completely intact except where a small blister developed and later broke. And that's almost entirely healed today. Good old Nivea has kept everything fairly comfortable after the initial few days of burning subsided, and today's the first day it feels close to normal. The swelling is almost gone, so there's no more stiffness when I curl my fingers and I have no pain at all now.
I made a video of my playing at Thursday night's gig to test the remote camera control app on my Apple Watch (which works very well!) and the burn is visible as I play. I can see and hear some hesitancy and a little struggling from time to time. But it'll be fine at tomorrow's gig, so there's no serious harm and a probable complete recovery once the surface skin peels off and the discoloration goes away.

I was being entirely facetious in referring to the somewhat famous lawsuit from some years ago. Glad to hear the burn is only superficial. May you fully recover soon.

And I was equally facetious in suggesting that there’s an organ more important than my hand. Remember that the coffee crotch episode happened right here in Philly.
