I just learned that Dr. Rick Jones, founder of Acoustic Image, recently passed away at 75, due to a heart attack. I never met him or communicated with him. Yet, I feel we were kindred spirits in developing upward-firing speaker cabinets. Of course, with his amps, he was light-years ahead. My condolences.

I am sorry to hear that. I have an AI amp that I bought used and had to call him about; he was extremely helpful in walking me through fixing the issue I was having myself, without having to send it to him. I've had that amp for probably 15 years and it has been a workhorse.
Hmmm… how would that sound through a Toob 12"...

R.I.P. Rick Jones! I had my Clarus sent to him twice for repair which he did for free, just had to pay for the postage! Most helpful communication with him always.

Over the years I owned 5 of his amps. Great stuff. RIP

Very sad to hear. How many owners of an amp company write back to you themselves when you email the company about a problem you have with your amp?
What a great loss. RIP, Rick.

I've been gigging with AI amps for 20+ years and have communicated with Rick numerous times over that period. He was always super helpful and friendly, and always went the extra mile for me (and many others) to make sure my equipment was in top shape. He was as much the reason I used AI as the amps themselves.
He will be greatly missed.
