    Hi all.

Here’s the main video from the auction viewing. Main guitar auction ended today.

Bare in mind that when faced with hundreds of guitars and only 2-3 hours viewing, I tend to make instant judgements which helps my mind narrow the selection. That judgement can be exaggerated for effect. If I say a guitar is bad or not good, that doesn’t mean it’s a bad guitar. It just means I’ve put it into the camp of ‘no’.
it’s a low resolution system that is quick and easy to operate but not very pc.
There are of course bad/not good guitars there and that will be obvious.

Sorry in advance for the heavy breathing. I had a blocked nose. That’s my excuse

I was planning to bid on a few things, then decided I have enough guitars and didn't bother. There were some excellent deals to be had, that's for sure. And a few items that predictably went for plenty of dosh. My general impression is that the sellers got slaughtered. The German archtops went for dirt, IMO.

    I agree.
That committee was a nice example and went under book.
The President was nice too and sounded very good.
I realised i had missed out on quite a bit of money but in the end, I don’t have time to wheel and deal whilst trying to build the manufacturing business. I’m just parting with what I have for now.

I did buy the 65 Guild SF4 though which I probably shouldn’t have.

Thanks a lot for your video on Bath residential suburbs archtecture and the Gardiner Houlgate guitars exposition .

I particulary apreciated your focus on the rare Fender Montego .
If I had been there I would have bid on the Committee from Ray Fenwick collection and probably on the cherry red Grimshaw GS30 (always wanted to have one, and not so common a color but it went too high for me).
The FDH by Gibson was also appealing on the photos : have you had time to examine it ?

Have no regrets for buying the late Ray Fenwick’s Guild Starfire, you probably own « a part of the british music history » as they say ! .

Hey JFranck, glad you enjoyed it.

The Guild although refinished, really stood out in person and felt really good in the hand. It also has the original mimi hb1's.
It was nicer than the 1997 Guild Sf4, that went for nearly £2k. To pay £1,700 for a good refinished 65 example, is fine with me.

If you want some British guitar history, I bought Zemaitis's work bench!! For £90!!!! Think of all the guitars that has had on it! George Harrison's, the Rolling Stones (Ronnie and Keith). A who's who of British rock guitar gods, have either leant or had their guitar on that bench.
It has been in the centre of his workshop for what looks like, many years.
I'm going to ask the family for some pics of him using it and the guitars that have been on it. It's going in my workshop now to continue it's life making British guitars.

    Great !

Well, didn’t think your purpose was really to make Zemaitis reissues, but who knows...

If it came with that, I wouldn't have complained... much!

I love all things Europe and the UK. I was surprised at how modern the homes appeared. I guess when you get out in the suburbs folks actually have homes instead of row houses? Anyway, I truly enjoyed the scenery. As to the weather, not a problem, for I’m used to living in the Pacific Northwest for the past 44 years!

At 10:24 what are you commenting on with regard to the L5 copy?

I'm commenting on how low the neck sits to the top of the body. It's like an old old Gibson style but the guitar is a copy of a 70'ish L5.
Something clearly went a bit wrong in the design phase which is odd as the Greco's are usually the better made examples, along with the Ibanez.

Same factory but yet a very different design and one that I have not seen before or likely will since.
