Part of a limited run of 180 for the USA, this 2008 tribute to the original model Paul made for Carlos Santana .
These were mostly available in Natural , like in the video . Occasionaly a rare black, emerald , or cherry comes up .
Being among other things an Illustrator , ( Luthier , Poet ..etc) and in the mist of a book of Dragons I'm doing , this one was a natural choice. The top is Sapele , a figured African Mahogany I've used on several builds . Honduran Mahogany back and neck .
The fretboard is Brazilian Rosewood with green Abalone birds . 8k neck / 14k bridge !! imagine High Wind Lollar Imperials with a 30% overwound bridge ! ( 9.2K for those) I NEVER play the bridge pickup by itself ... this should be interesting.

I love PRS guitars, and that West St. looks great.
The guitar you made looks awesome, too.
I moved away from Maryland 20 years ago this year. There's very little I miss about living in the Baltimore/DC area, but it was great to live only a couple of hours away from the PRS factory.
My wife even let us do a tour of the PRS factory on one of our anniversaries ... of course hanging out in nearby Annapolis was also part of the fun.

Looks great.
I've got a huge long block of Sapele with figuring just like that. I'm going to turn it into veneers for backs and sides on a 16" project.
Does it make for good necks? I could get quite a few one piece necks out of it too.

Oh yes, it's essentially figured mahogany . I have 2 neck billet's of quilted Sapele , delicious stuff

It arrived today , flawless, the neck is a bit narrower , very chunky in a nice way .
The back of the neck is Flamed up through the headstock , I wasn't expecting that . After VERY close inspection I realized to my great joy that it is solid Sapele .
Tone is warm and clean, of course it will take huge amounts of gain and sustain forever if you need it to.
The bridge pickup with gain could pass for a neck it's so warm .
Very pleased .It's a keeper , I've already had a few offers on it !
