Hi guys! Hope everyone's doing fine!
I just found this pickup and I wanted to see whether anyone might be able to help me id it.
It's somewhat similar to one of those Kent pickups from the 1960s, but I don't think that's it.
It's the exact model same as on this old Reverb listing, where it's described as a DeArmond (again, don't think that's the case): 1952 Gretsch Synchromatic 400 6040 with Gold Melita and | Reverb
It sounds AMAZING and I have no interest in selling it, just learning more about its history.
Many thanks in advance!
Matt.

The one referred to in the listing is not a Dearmond - it's Japanese. Yours looks Japanese as well, from whoever supplied the Kent brand. I've seen them sold under other brand names as well, and have a couple of them in Chrome-plate knocking around the bunker, somewhere. Not the best visual fit for that skinny-necked Fasan (or Hoyer, or whatever that Teutonic terror might be), but if it sounds great, it sounds great.

Thanks for your input! Yeah, as I was saying, mine is the very same model as the one on the listing. I have had a Kent and another unbranded (likely Japanese) one, but this looks different than both. I would agree with it being likely Japanese. I slapped it on this Hoyer to see what it sounded like, and it really surprised me.
