Has any owners of the Peerless Cremona tried switching to round wound strings, and if so what are your thoughts on the sound.
Thanks,
Rich

One of my students had a Cremona -- nothing wrong with round wounds! [I have rounds on my 16" hollowbody] Pretty low cost to try a set out; if you don't like them, go back to flats. [I like Stringjoy rounds, FWIW.]
Have fun experimenting!

Thanks for the info. Are you referring to the Broadway string set? 12-52
Thanks

The Signatures or the Broadways - whatever material/gauge you prefer!

You could try silk-and-steel strings like the TI Plectrum or Spectrum if you're interested in the acoustic sound but are afraid round-wounds might be too bright. The silk takes off some of the tension and zing, plus dampens finger noise.

As implied by RJBV, round wounds will cause much more finger noise. If you play a lot of chord melody stuff, round wounds will cause a lot more noise when switching chords. Even though I sometimes prefer the sound of round wounds, I have changed all of my hollow bodies from round to flat wounds because the finger noise during chord melody work was just intolerable. I will have to try silk and steel at some point.
That said, round wounds are cheap and it would be a small investment to give them a try.
