Murray Kuun makes visually beautiful guitars but I haven't seen many examples of them in action. This one came up in my YT feed today and I thought it might be of interest here.

I went to check out Cameron Ward only to find that he passed away in 2018. He was very talented, and way to young.

If you are referring to this article
https://www.musicinafrica.net/directory/cameron-ward
it says that Hugh Masekela died in 2018, not Cameron Ward
-
And judging by his FB page, Cameron is still very much alive and kicking

Murray Kuun’s instruments are superb.
I own two—a Spitfire, much like the instrument CW plays here—and a 10 string harp guitar that Mr Kuun puckishly calls a Harponit.
I’ve shared a version of this Spitfire image elsewhere on JGO, but I’ll add it here so folks can see details of the Kuun esthetic also visible in Mr Ward’s guitar.
Top carving is impeccable. The finger rest/pick guard is attached only to the neck; it flips up for cleaning dust bunnies. Mr Kuun began as a violin luthier, thus the violin-like bridge, which you’ll also see on the CW guitar, and similar “f” holes and tailpiece.

It has no acoustic voice; it’s meant to be amped; in that sense CW’s guitar sounds very familiar to me.
I only wish Johannesburg was closer, so I could try more Kuun instruments in hand. However there are lots of videos for most of his instruments, and more pertinently Mr Kuun is happy to work with guitarists around the world to build what they want.
