I know it's all subjective and I love guitar porn as much as anyone but the Howard Roberts just doesn't do it for me aesthetically. I'd probably even enjoy playing one. I'm assuming it's a perfectly useful, desirable, playable jazz guitar but that centre hole just makes the pickup look like an afterthought.

There's no rational explanation for a lot of taste. I like a lot of solid-body guitars but I won't even look twice at an SG and I don't care much for Tele's - even though I have one.

Having said all that, I'm sure a lot of people would find my most recent purchase pretty damn ugly too.

I for one love that Airline! Those pickups look like the ones on an old Kay I had, but different color (mine were gold).

The HRs are nice looking IMO, but that Airline looks like more fun!
