I have had 2 mensinger basses which are amazing. They are made in poland. The prices are about 50% of what you'd pay if they were american made. I've never seen anyone playing the guitars though I know a lot of folks with their basses.

I'd never heard of them before. Some nice hardware for the price. I've neve used Hauessel pickups but they had a big run in high end guitars a few years ago and had a really good reputation. Hipshot locking tuners which are my favorites. So it seems like not a lot of corners cut. The nut width is a hair narrower than I like but probably not enough to make a difference (about 1 21/32" for the non-metrics in the crowd). The body shape has that Jerry Garcia kind of look too it but nothing else about the guitar suggests anything like those instruments. $1563 US for the Arcadia J in stock is certainly well priced (although part of that is the fall in the value of the Euro). That is probably actually less than 50% of a similar guitar made in the US.

Probably too wild looking for most of the stodgy jazz crowd. I think it looks pretty cool...definitely see the nod to Jerry's "rosebud" Irwin...
Of course, I'm biased and I automatically assume anything Polish is high quality.

they have others with a more conservative look. I'm partial to the art deco influence.
