Do Android music apps stay online or "call home"?

As the Title says. I would really rather they didn't.

With the latest Android versions, you can specify the permissions for each app. If you're several versions behind, it can be more difficult, of course. But from ~10 onward, you can decide whether any app can have permission to access the internet. Maybe 11, I can't recall precisely, but I'm already on 13. Go to Settings, Apps, All apps, and find the one you want. You can see how much data has been used, if any, and adjust the permissions as you prefer.
