Long time visitor, thought I would finally post something. So I had bought a classical for the first time a few years back. It didnt sound all that great when I got it, but after working on it and playing it a bunch, it started to sound good, and I got to like playing it.

Had an offer near what I had into it this past spring so it had to go. I soon missed it and started looking for a much cheaper one. One popped up on shopgoodwill with a 7 am sunday morning end of bidding and I got it for $27 and $10 shipping/handling. I may have over paid.

It arrived. As expected it was kind of ugly looking. Not expected was the big splintered hit at the edge of the top and the big crack in the fretboard, which was drier than a desert. A couple of tbls of oil later, and it closed up a bit and I just left the hit on the edge alone.

The guitar had side markers and the only ones I have seen with those were samicks, so I think that is who made it. The geometry seemed good, it seems well made and plays ok. So I started working on the saddle, which was high and changed to a set of high tension ghs classiques trebled I had.

It started to sound decent. Got an $8 bone nut and saddle from ebay and put on a set of augistine blues. A few days later, it sounded better. So I commenced on writting and recording some songs.

About the songs. My jazz isn't jazz, blues isn't blues, classical not classical ect. I am self taught and kind of play sorta like those at times. And I usually write and record a song in 7 or 8 minutes. I might try the lead/melody (hopefully) a couple times, but the first take is usually the best.

Also, I had starting doing this a few years ago originally to write a few looper songs on an acoustic in case I would ever actually play in front of an audience. I didn't use a looper, but all of them can be played with a looper.

I recorded them on a Tascam dr05 based recording rig, first with the internal mics, then I added a AT822 stereo mic from gc used for $120. Then got a blue tube dual mic preamp from gc used for $25 as it was beat to hell, but it works. Put in a ehx12ax7, which cost a couple bucks more than the preamp. I started to get decent recordings. Well, time marched and now I have over a thousand of these things recorded.

By now your probably wondering what all the junk could add up to and what it sounds like. Well, I will attach a few songs. A few of the the songs start with the same kinda intro but aren't really the same, I think.

I should clarify, there are only about 50 with the new guitar since august. The bulk were with a steel string and maybe a couple hundred with the alhambra I sold in april. I record with the dr05 in wav 48 24 then rerecord from the dr05 to a sony udx71 as an mp3. Going through them all to pull out the decent ones to convert is like torture.
