I've owned at least one of all Bill Comins' guitar models over the years. I don't think anyone would disagree that he is one of the top tier of luthiers building archtops today. I currently own an old school Chester Avenue model and now a 2017 "Salutation". I was not aware of this model until recently. It appears to be somewhere between a Classic and a Chester Avenue in terms of refinements. The woods are awesome as is the workmanship as you would expect. It came to me with black La Bella tape wound strings on it. This was my first exposure to them. I can't tell if they are contributing to the marvelous electrified tone coming from this guitar. The feel is unique and may become addictive. Just a nice arch top by a skilled luthier and a great guy.

My own Comins model is an East Side Jazz with a CC pickup in an enclosed HB surround cover, an excellent guitar with a vg tone

Nothing like that. I have decided to concentrate on classical guitar and I am accumulating a collection of nylon string instruments. The Comins speaks for itself in the DG video. Fabulous example of archtop guitars.
