I'm guessing I'm not the only forum member that enjoys camping out. Last year we got our rig together. After doing the research, we decided the pull behind setup for two people and a dog was the way to go. You can unhook from the trailer and use the tow vehicle. Here's our rig:

I've been taking my Dupont MC-30 or 1953 Epiphone Triumph Regent along on trips. This last camp-out I took the Eastman John Pisano 880 and Fender Champion 20.

Note some essentials for the rig-bug spray, bottled water. Try to position yourself near the drink cooler for easy access. I am still experimenting with tools to tilt the Champion back, but so far a flip-flop sounds best.

All ready for cocktail hour with fellow campers! Please post your camp out photos!

Camping at Dinosaur National Monument in Utah this week. My travel guitar is a handmade “Acousticaster” by James Larsen.
Camper is a 2022 Winnebago Solis Pocket. Perfect for 2 people, and it fits in a parking space!Let's Go Camping!-b88c149d-e3b5-4006-8185-973ca151b277-jpg

Here’s our camper—a Tab 400. Yes the camera angle makes it look bigger than it is. (TWSS) It weighs 2800# dry. My Ridgeline pulls it without too much trouble except to my gas budget.

We took it to the Black Hills last month and will be taking it to the Hinterland Festival in Iowa next month and to Longmont CO next month.

My guitar is a Voyage Air travel OM travel guitar. The neck folds down and it fits into a large protected case which I also use for my iPad and some clothes as well. I haven’t felt the need to amplify it and REALLY annoy the neighbors, but I do have a sound hole pickup for it.

And here was I thinking that “camping” meant damp canvas, squat toilets and an immoveable sharp stone under my sleeping bag. I think what you folks are doing in your gas guzzlers is better described as “glamping”.

We used to have two small trailers sitting on blocks in a campground at Chautauqua Lake in WNY. One was ours, the other the mother-in-law's. And luckily I loved my MIL, she was a joy and the two of us had a bond. It was a blast. Fishing, campfires, good cooking by mom. Many times I brought a cheap guitar to play at night around the fire and a whole bunch of the neighbors sat around and sang songs and loved it. We were in the little cove just above the bridge on the right. When mom died we just couldn't keep up, and left. I really miss it.

Camping was a lot of fun ! We had a Safari Trek for several years- then eventually sold it. The problem with Motor-homing is the Motorhome itself.

Lots of great trips and a few very problematic ones, but we do miss it for sure.

you guys are going in style!
my idea of camping was driving up to north central PA, pitching a tent and hitting the streams w/ my fly rod for fresh trout dinners.

After years of all expense paid camping trips courtesy of my rich uncle, named Sam, I have no desire to do any more camping. Even if I could convince my wife, who truly hates it. After I quit working for US, I also vowed that it would require someone with a gun or a very big knife to make me run again. Now I may be at the point where even those wouldn't be enough. Y'all have fun, y'hear?

You do realize that "bug spray', especially anything containing Deet will take nitro finish off an instrument in seconds?

I love camping and have spent about 20 nights per year in the bush for the last 30 years.

My beater guitar always comes with me.

I made this video using my own photography from outback camping trips:

I miss that. Did I see Olgas, Oodnadatta track, a railway bridge in WA and Mt Augustus(!!)? Very impressive.

I'm just a tent camper. Camped on Mabel Lake, just north of me. I didn't bring a guitar but my deadhead buddy Mike did.

Isn't life just one big camping trip? Homeless people are ahead of the curve. This is Martinez Lake in AZ. The other side is California.

I might go mobile if I can't afford my new house. I was looking forward to getting a little Jon boat but finances are getting tight.

I have some issues driving on the highway but the place I want to see the most is the northwest. Never been there.
    It's on my bucket list.

One of the nice things about that place was no cell phone reception.

I do some camping a few times a year - usually on a motorcycle. I haven't figured out how to carry a guitar with this setup yet. That Voyage Air looks interesting. I've also considered a ukulele.

I remember a comedian's routine where he said "Ya know what's stupid? Camping. I HAVE A HOUSE. Can you imagine the first humans to build shelters saying 'Hey let's go back to the cold damp cave tonight just for fun.'"

One of the options we looked at was a toy hauler to bring the Ducatis along. It's a great way to go, however the trailer we ended up with was owned by a family member who became widowed-she had no further use for it and sold it to us for an attractive price.
    Nice V-Strom! (or SV 650)

I'd like a 14 ft. long wide-base Jon Boat with about a 15 HP motor, and a steering console.

Wow, beautiful Ducati's! My picture is of my SV650. I've thought about getting a travel trailer that can tow the bike for post retirement. Here's a pic of my other bike which I use for longer trips:

You have to ride your road bike up Blue Ridge Parkway, but not the one with the gas engine. Do it with the one that you carry around that at times can produce about 1 HP but not for long. Working my way through Giant Steps is still more challenging.
