    Apologies for straying away from the topic but I just thought I'd share a neat little trick here that might be interesting to some.

    I had a hard time with top hat knobs which have no texture at all. I went to the plumbing section of my local hardware store and bought some rubber O-rings which cost 10 cents each I think. Works like a charm!

    The very closeup picture here makes them look really big but in reality they are not very noticeable.

    I’m with Barney
    I use chickenhead knobs on
    my main guitar

    one less problem to worry about ....
    and I need all the help i can get

    They are appropriate for that period and go with the 69-70s look. I find them oddly charming on a 70s Norlins Gibson. Somewhat like bell-bottoms and platform shoes.

    My own weakness are those ES-250 knobs and nearly unobtainable ES-150 Flower Tops, especially in Oxblood.
