Gibson L-48 question

The top of my L-50 from the same period is carved, not pressed. Doubtless.
I suppose the same for that L-48.

The curve of the outer edge of the top is on the inner side not as smooth as on the outer. You can see on the inner side where the carving has stopped, the carved area does not reach the rim.
Maybe it is machine carved, but carved. When it would have been pressed, the surface on the inner side of the top would be more even.
That’s my interpretation.
