This is an original tune of mine called Force. Written about 20 years ago but rarely performed because it's hard!

Featuring my Yamaha SA2200 (which i love), my JCR fretted bass and using a Fractal modeler for the sounds.

As always, dedicated to my dad, Sy Zucker - a bassist, my mentor and my muse. He died from covid in January 2021 and I owe him everything....

Thanks, Jack! Another proof of your mastery of the instrument. Since this Forum is about guitars, let me share my experiences with the SA-2200, for what they are worth. It's the one guitar I should never have sold. I felt the original pickups were too hot and added a "sawtooth" to block chords, so they were replaced by Duncans - a 59 on the neck and a JB on the bridge. An Ibanez semi with Super 58s I had simultaneously just sounded rounder and mellower. The result: better jazz tone from the neck position but the coil split feature became useless. If I weren't grossly overage, I might just get another sample, hopefully without the slight neck twist I was able to address without recourse to professional help.

Thanks. I remember reading your report about the duncans before and I'm glad I did because I was also considering swapping pickups. Apparently, the best pickups to use for doing single coil / humbucker are the fralin unbuckers. They actually sound like a strat when you short out one of the coils. But these sound great to me. Better than anything else I've owned. I was lucky with this one. It needed a little bit of a fretlevel but it came back with the lowest action I've ever had on an instrument. Better even than my plek'd tele. The luthier put a note in the case that said it was a spectacular guitar and blew away any semihollow he's ever worked on.

I almost sold mine but changed my mind after reading your earlier post. I need to update the wiring though, the selector switch had to be replaced and the bridge pickup distorts in a weird way.

My switch is flaky too. My luthier sprayed it with contact cleaner but it probably should be replaced.

Great sound. Reminiscent of Gabor Szabo. Beautiful song!

Great guitar & bass playing! Perhaps your father's untimely transition has prompted an introspective turn in your plating style? Anyway, I'm liking it!
I installed Lindy Fralin HB's in my SA-2200, and I too regret letting it go like the other gentleman mentioned!
