My sound has been evolving a bit and I have more changes in mind. To that end, I went on something of a gizmo spending splurge yesterday and these two are now incoming.

For tone control and line level control: The Tech 21 Para Driver that so many of you here like

And for power: the Straight Ahead Power Amp by Jay Ganz (500 watts and no laptop adapter. It's a favorite in the pedal steel community)

Looks great Jim but I have just one worry- only 500 watts?

It seems that the World Health Organization has identified a new variant of GAS, Jim. V2 is being called “gizmo accumulation syndrome”, and I fear you may have caught it!

Did you order the amp directly from Jay Ganz?

    New gizmos are fun!

Jim, I'll bet you $1 CAN when you share your next recording: (1) it will sound great; and (2) it will sound like you!

Is there some reason the Milkman amp didn't work for you? I was considering getting one for straight ahead sounds. Right now that Ganz looks pretty good!

No. I mostly just decided that it was time to turn off the trem after 50 years and that made the Quilter Superpro US a much better deal. Now I'm wondering if it's time to get rid of the Fender scoop after 30 years. I also have a guitar coming with no volume or tone controls. (And if you ask my wife she'll tell you that it wouldn't be me if I was constantly trying different amp setups. That may have even been in our wedding vows).

No, this one was being sold locally used by a bass player who bought it from Jay.

I feel like I should probably post something with my Mustang with the Fralin hum-cancelling P90. It sounds like me but in standard pitch. Apparently I am who I am.

Jim, if you're at all considering parting with your Quilter SB US, I'd gladly buy it off you. I'm local in HRM.

Consider yourself first in line. Th Para Driver is coming from Alberta so I should know what's up in about 8 days.
