I've never had a separate head/cab before, but there's a good deal on a Quilter TB202 nearby, so I'm considering it.

What companies do you all recommend for lightweight cabinets (preferably 10") that can handle high wattage amp heads often used here?

The usual suspects here: Toob; Raezer's Edge (Stealth or open-back); VBoutique makes cabs for Quilter, although they don't advertise a 1x10 model; etc.

If I needed another cab, I would probably get a Toob. I've considered it, but I just can't convince myself that I need to spend more money on a cab I probably will never use outside my house, and my RE Stealth 10ER does well enough here. The RE cabs are very good, but they're not the lightest you can find. For now, though, I just don't need light. If Gitterbug had offered these several years ago, I probably would have one.

TB202 is a great amp. There's no reason to overlook the BlockDocks if you want to make it a combo amp. I have the 10 and the 12. Fact is they both weigh pretty much the same due to Nyodimium in 12 and not in 10. I currently prefer the 12. It's a compact and light one handed rig at somewhere around 20lbs.

Take a look at RevSound. David has been making great cabs in the woods of New Hampshire for decades. I pump my DV Mark EG 250 head into my RS8 (a 10 pound 10” cube with a custom neo driver made to RevSound specs) and am always amazed at how big, clean and beautiful it sounds. I’ve played keys, bass and guitar through it for loud blues and jazz bands with equally great results.

Did you look at Acoustic Image Doubleshot (2x10-inch speakers and a 5 inch forward driver) ? 15 lbs light, 600W 4ohms. Not very loud SPL wise but great otherwise.

David Luke, who “is” RevSound, is also a great guy, working musician (bass), and talented craftsman who will bend over backwards to provide exactly what you want / need. He answers the phone himself and loves to learn about everyone who calls. We talked for an hour+ when I first called to ask about the RS8 after finding his website through a friend.

He stays in touch during the build, he contacted me to confirm that it arrived OK, and he called twice after that to make sure I was happy with it. He’s also open to suggestions and will help you sort out your ideas for the cabinet of your dreams. I couldn’t be happier with a maker or a product. I’m thinking about getting a matching one for a stereo pair. Right now, my other channel is a RE Bass 10 with a Tornado - sounds fine on stage but looks wrong

    +1 on Dave and RevSound!
He's better known in the "bass" community, and I've used his bass cabs for several years! [The 2x8 cab rocks!] I've had a couple guitar cabs, too, and they are solid. I wish he were better known in guitar circles; he focuses on "light and loud," which certainly fits in this forum!
