    Has anyone ever played or heard a 2-pu CC setup? One in the neck and one at the bridge?

    Tony Mottola had two in a cutaway L5. The screws and magnet etc for the bridge pu were between bridge and tailpiece. This was back in the fifties?

    The bridge CC was later changed but the screw holes can just be seen.

    That's be a good contest question - - which would've weighed more -- LP's 2 CC LP, or TM's 2 CC L-5 ??

    I am guessing they'd both be hea-vee......

    ..++ Correction ++ I thought LP's was a Les, not an archtop......

    Wonder what LP's archtop was.....

    Sorry.....

    I am wondering what kind of funky sound you'd have with both pickups on.

    Daniel Slaman made one (or maybe a few) in his New Vintage series.

    Alvino Rey had a second one installed on his ES-250 from a period lapsteel

    Wow, how did I miss that!
    Wonder if they share the same magnets?

    Not the same magnets. The neck pickup has 2 large cobalt pickups, the bridge has one magnet, not incredibly dissimilar to how a p90 is made, but with a blade instead of pole pieces. Also….the crooked mounted neck pickup on this guitar has always given me agita.

    Not the same configuration especially since size is obviously different but same type though, cobalt
