I've got a set of Bensons that have served me well. Only challenge was the wraps on the ball ends prevented me from installing them on an archtop with a "fingers" tailpiece. TI was very unhelpful when I contacted them about it BTW. No matter. Now I want to put a set of JS110 Jazz Swing light gauge (10-44) on a solid body. My concern is laying out thirty bucks only to find that the low E won't go all the way through the stop tailpiece, like what's on a Les Paul. Anybody have any direct experience with this? Thanks!

They all have the wrap. But with strings that light, if they won't fit in the slots they really need to be enlarged.

No, they don't. On the plectrum sets, only the G has a silk-wrapped ball-end. That's also the only flat-wound string in the set. However, the low E on the AC112 set is also a very tight fit for the string holder.

I use Benson .012” rounds on my L-5 Lee Rit without any problem.

You can gently remove the silk wrapping on any string that’s too tight a fit; just gently cut it with a blade.

I was able to put Thomastik set JS112 on my Comins GCS semi-hollow with ease. The stop tailpiece appears similar to what's on a Les Paul if that's any help.

I use 12-50s Jazz Swings on my Les Paul, no issues with the stop-bar tailpiece.

Yeah. I need to do this with every one of my wood tailpieces where I run the ground wire by the ball end. The string contacts the ground and with the silk, the string is subject to all kinds of RF interference. It's an annoyance and I can't really understand the purpose of that wrap but I do slice it with a sharp blade and remove it from the area of contact.
