My Carvin WG5 wireless died, probably my own fault, I left it plugged in and left on overnight. Would not take a new charge. Well out of warranty, but they had me send it back to them, and are sending me a brand new unit, just paying a few $ for shipping. Now THAT'S a class company.

(And just a tip: Many of these new little wireless plugs won't work with guitars/basses with active electronics. Carvin WG5 does.)

[Wow, I actually didn't know they were still in business, after separating from Kiesel Guitars! Good to hear, though -- they were always a great company in the past! My Carvin PA system is in perfect condition!]

And it's distinct from Kiesel Guitars in more ways than one. I always loved Carvin guitars. For many years, I played a custom built Carvin 7 that I ordered by phone and picked up at the factory. I decided one day (after the founding father had passed away) that I wanted them to take it in for a fret dress and cleanup and maybe swap in one of their new 7 string pickup sets. So I called them to discuss my options - and they blew me off with the info that they had absolutely no interest in touching, seeing or hearing about my guitar. They don't do any work on their own instruments, not even true custom guitars that predate today's "every Carvin is custom" mantra. They referred me to their web page and told me to figure out what I wanted and order it. So I cleaned it up myself and stuck with the excellent original pickups (which turn out to be richer sounding and generally jazzier than their new higher output pickups).

They always made great electronics. Their little 15W tube amp (Vintage 16) is a wonderful jazz amp. It's good to hear that they're still providing the level of customer service and backing that used to typify every Carvin product.
