I have been performing jazz gigs for 49 years, mostly using various Gibson ES-175's with a closed back solid State amp. Feedback has never been an issue and my tone has always been good to great depending on the room.

The grass is not greener on the other side. That is an illusion which is a symptom of being a malcontent.

He was using his Clarus head and Raezer's Edge cabs. I've always thought that combination had an abundance of low mids which is prone to feedback. But it showed me that even the thinner guitars with small bodies will feedback when there is enough sound pressure. Maybe in the trio it doesn't have to be as loud as it was in that quartet. Stryker was using his 347 so of course there was no feedback there...

When I used a Clarus/RE rig, I always had to roll off the bass and mid controls somewhat. It was the same way with Polytones. My Bud 6 allows me to run flat with great tone and no feedback.
