    Hi, Been "gifted" this guitar and was wondering if anyone could give me any info on brand/maker etc. No markings anywhere apart from the number 37 in the body heel to neck, which is loose. Obviously it will need regluing/reset?!?!

    Looks like a Klira archtop - made in Bubenreuth, West Germany, most likely late 1950s.
    Once properly restored and set up, these can be very nice guitars. You can get a correct German-style archtop bridge quite easily, made by Teller (who would have made the original bridge for this guitar) - Stewmac sells them here:

    Yep - Klira made it for Musikhaus Joergensen in Duesseldorf.
    Before or after (I do not know) they sold guitars from the GDR with the same checker board design and the name "Solo"

    Cool looking guitar. Dig the mother of toilet seat pearloid inlays. Probably Brazilian rosewood fingerboard.
