New mix.
Graham adapted the Gil Evans arrangement of "Boplicity" for 2 guitars. We both recorded our 175 directly through the V3 Tube amp. No amps or mikes were involved. I posted another take of the tune in the showcase section.
This was a lot of work dudes. Give it a listen.

The hard work shows! Great sound and playing from both of you.
-
I'll post the chart here too in case anyone would like to see it.

Great jazz sound!
You should get an award from jazz guitar.be for promoting real jazz.
Best

I agree with Kris. That's the best chart I've heard in quite awhile. Thanks for the effort, fellas.

To get something that tight and grooving and not be in the same room...DAMN!

I was so distracted by the amazing playing that I couldn't concentrate on the tone. I had to listen 3 times to be able to attend to the tone.
Great playing is so distracting. Hard to analyze anything else when the mind is utterly overwhelmed by exactly the type of playing I have longed to be able to do all my life.
Well done, and yes, I do think the tone is to die for.

12-13-2021, 01:24 PM #8Dutchbopper GuestI like this take better than the other one in the showcase forum Graham. Better sound too. I used some compression on the guitars in the other take but got rid of it in this one. This is pretty much what the guitars really sound like. I think I will take down the other clip and make this the official one!

Thanks Lawson! Actually this progression is not really that complicated, all it really does is move from F to Bb and back again. Then the bridge just moves from Bb back down to F. So it’s all based around I and IV really, then you just try and sketch in some of the passing chords (at least that’s how I tackle it).

As usual a big BRAVO to both of you. The new Joe Pass / Herb Ellis team.

I just uploaded a more more balanced mix in the OP. I deleted the earlier vid.

Flawless execution ! You can’t get better than that.
If that isn’t perfect jazz then I don’t know what is.
Bravo Gentleman.

The new mix is just perfection! The Interwebs are good for something, after all!

Can I ask how you recorded from the V3, and what gain settings you used?
