I have been admiring this guitar for 2 years or so, and I thought I lost the opportunity to have it when it initially sold at Guitar Salon International. But, amazingly, it became available again and I just pulled the trigger on Reverb. Mijail’s guitars are amazing. The classical that he built for me earlier this year is the best sounding guitar I have ever owned. It is just incredible. I am expecting as much from this. I’m excited! Can’t wait for it to get here!
He now has an exclusive agreement with GSI, so they are now the distributors of all of his guitars sold to the US. I believe there is only one other Kharash available in the US right now, at the GSI website. They sound as good or better than instruments at 2 to3 times the price.
Here’s a description from the Reverb seller. I have verified the details about the wood with Mijail:
2019 Mijail Kharash Flamenco Blanca w/Pegs--Spruce/Cypress
Here is a Stunning concert blanca (blonde) flamenco by Mijail Kharash of Grenada, Spain.
This featherweight blanca features an aged German Spruce top, finely grained. The Spanish Cypress back and sides were cut in Seville roughly 35-36 years ago. The neck is Spanish Cedar, fretboard is ebony as is the peghead overlay. Beautiful flame maple accent inlays on the faceplate are very elegant. The bridge is either streaked ebony or very dark rosewood. The sound hole rosette is Mijails own design.
As these are aged tone woods the sound is very dry and woody.
The trebles are sweet and the bases clear and warm. Nothing bright or harsh about the sound. The action is very low and a joy to play.
This instrument has been kept in a climate controlled room and monitored closely. It's remained very stable year round. No swelling, cracking or issues of any kind have occurred. The smell of old Cypress and Spruce is intoxicating!
The scale length is 660mm,
nut width is 52mm.
The weight of the guitar is a mere
1219 grams (43 ounces) or 2 lbs. 11 ounces. Finish is French Polished. Clear golpeadors are present. The guitar comes in a beautiful Cordoba arched hard-shell case.

Beautiful guitar; very unique. I would like to hear it.

Absolutely gorgeous instrument! All of the videos that GSI and Siccas have put out on his builds have been superb. To my ears, the ideal classical or flamenco tone.
I had not heard of this builder before you bought your classical, and I really appreciate learning about another fantastic luthier.

Thanks. Mijail’s guitars are really special. My classical is by far the best sounding guitar I have ever owned. It projects and sustains amazingly.

Great guitar!”
It arrives tomorrow. I will try to record something brief to post here within the next few days.
Here’s Mijail’s guitar that took second in the competition, it’s the “sister” to mine:

One can’t have too many classical guitars! Enjoy it Mark!

It arrived today, and I am totally blown away - stunned really - by the sound and quality of this guitar. The wood is absolutely amazing. I have never seen a spruce top with as much feathering as this one. The picture below doesn’t do it justice. And, the cypress is very beautiful, with much more character and color than you see in the photos. And, it smells strongly of cypress. That’s a very pleasant added feature. The smell is similar to eucalyptus.
The tone is a perfect dry, bright flamenco blanca tone, and it projects incredibly with perfect, full trebles and sharp, raspy bass and mids. It’s even lighter than the classical he built for me. I didn’t think that was possible. This one is a keeper!
