With many thanks to wzpgsr, I now have a Quilter Microblock "45 watt pedal amp". When I saw the "for sale" post, I figured it would be a fine backup amp to carry in my trunk or gig bag - and I was right. But I grossly underestimated how good these are! To make sure it worked, I just ran it into my Stealth 10, plugged my Kurzweil keyboard into it, and was blown away. It's equally fine (at least at home volumes - I got it an hour ago) with the humbuckers on my archtops and with my '57 P-bass. My Eastman 810CE7 sounds fantastic through it - rich and balanced, with a solid musical bottom and smooth highs. It does the Tele thing from Bickert to Burton with Lace Alumibuckers, and it's outstanding reinforcement for my National tricone (which has a mic capsule clipped over the grille). Now I can wait more patiently for the Superblock US that I've had on back order from MF for many, many weeks to replace the Vox Night Train tube head (currently for sale) on my Stealth 10.
This is too good to let it live in my trunk. So I put it on top of an 8" cab, set up a stereo rig with my Little Jazz, and hooked up my trusty old Alesis Nanoverb. Even though the "stereo" outputs on the Alesis are not true stereo, a hint of reverb in the LJ on the left and a dry right channel through the Quilter make a pretty full sound. It's not Martin Taylor's old stereo rig, but it sounds pretty sweet. I'll try to capture it in stereo for a video demo once I figure it all out. And now I have to buy a true stereo delay.
The Microblock is out of production, so most of the ones you'll see for sale are used and the "replacement" Interblock 45 is a lot more money (admittedly for a lot more flexibility, with EQ etc). Mine arrived in great shape and was clearly lovingly cared for and/or bulletproof. Thanks again to wzpgsr for an honest description, a fine deal, and great communication. I don't generally buy used stuff at all, and rarely over the internet. I also avoid sellers about whom I know nothing. But the JGO community has been a cut above the crowd since I first discovered you guys (despite the occasional flame wars and polite name calling
). I recently sold a guitar to an active member who was also a pleasure to interact with, and the integrity among you all is inspiring.
If you're looking for a great little amp to use at home or carry in your gig bag, give the Microblock 45 a look.

See how that works? Buying cheap gear is never as cheap as you think it will be.And now I have to buy a true stereo delay.

Late at night when it's really really quiet, if you strain your ears and pay very close attention, you can actually hear your stuff calling you:

That's why I only buy shoes at PayLess.

Is that what’s known as a whole lotta sole?
