Hi,
As I live in Belgium, I have been looking for picks available in Europe.
So I came across Hawk picks . They have a lot of models and sizes.

Is anyone using them for Jazz. What models do you use?
Other comments welcome!

"Old world plastic"? What is that? Marketing BS, I suspect. But since this is the first time I've heard of the company, I suspend judgement for now.

Old world plastic. You know.. like Bach used. Brought to north America by Columbus. I think they bought Manhattan with it.

The first synthetic plastic, Bakelite, was invented in Yonkers, so new world plastic is more retro than old world plastic. Or maybe they mean casein, which is organic and ancient in its applications. Casein picks were a thing a few years ago: they did feel and sound quite like tortoise but tended to soften if damp. Anyway, there’s no shortage of Euro picks. I like Wegen myself.

In my quest of holy pick I ordered literally dozens of different picks. If not a hundred. This phase took approx three years, but still sometimes I feel some traces of the urge :-).
...so I gradually got some experience... as a first step I take the visual look...If it implies somethimg bad, I do not even order. This was an economy necessity for me :-).
My experience, that too shiny surface is a bad sign with no exception Also plastic is a bad sign... with some exceptions.

If not plastic, what do you use?

Shiny, shiny, shiny picks of plastic – a favour a plethora of plectrums, shiny, dull, and everything in between. The Holy Grail is never found.
