This looks very interesting.... will be available as a 12'' combo and as a head. Weight will be 21lbs for the combo. That's 2lbs less than the Tonemaster Deluxe Reverb! I'm tempted... it ticks a lot of boxes for me.

You will like it, I have one. Takes time to tweak the tones to your liking. I really like it
-
I have the Aviator Twin Ten and it's a fine amp - if this is on par, I'm sure I'll love it.

I kind of preferred the more unique styling they used to go for with the older Aviator and Micropro series. This amp and their new Aviator Cub look so bland but it seems they have settled on a cabinet style across their lineup.
-
It seems to be easy to remove the head from the cab.

I'm betting they will sell the head separately, too.

I think you might be complaining in advance of the facts. The Aviator line, IIRC, has always had this plain aesthetic. The MicroPro line has a different visual design. This amp is clearly from the Aviator family of amps.

I also must disagree about "... Aviator(s) ... look so bland ...". To me, the plain design of the Aviators is a plus. I don't want an amp to be the center of attention - if I wanted that I'd use a Marshall stack. It's a matter of personal taste. But I recognize that some people do want a visual-attention-grabbing amp, and such persons should probably not select a Quilter Aviator.

When I look at a combo amp I'm thinking: how easy would it be to break off a knob?, will it show dirt too easily?
That's my aesthetics
-
I can't be doing with the branding.

It's better than my name idea: Quilter Bee

Nobsez!!
The cab is basically a BlockDock 12. I've had one for a few years. It's a great cab for me. I like plain, but then I like my archtops without fingerboard inlays. In fact, I like plain so much I took the Quilter badge off both my BlockDocks. I think it helps get a more traditional jazz sound :-)
If it's basically some sort of hybrid of ToneBlock 202 / Super Block US / SuperBlock UK X 2 it's going to be pretty great for me. Especially if I ever get on a stage again. I like the Quilter XLR out, and this one has a level control. And it'll be an awesome duo with the 12HD sitting under it. And tremolo. And a dwell knob for the already pretty great reverb. Plus 'Dst Bst'!
Dangit! Looks like I might have to buy another amp....

No the old Aviators at least had a bit of personality:

I had an Aviator 8. My brother has it now. It's a classy little chassis and looks right at home in his far-nicer-than-my music room. That stitched leather handle is a lot nicer than the plastic thing on BlockDock. (not that I care that much about such things)
edit:
For those that might care about such things: on closer inspection of the pics, there appears to be some difference in the handle from BDock that I can't quite suss out.Last edited by ccroft; 10-02-2021 at 01:04 PM.

I don't know if this was on the site earlier, but I see the head is now being sold separately, too:

I also see they have a BlockDock Cab with a 15" speaker -- 28lbs. Is this new?
-
The 15" must be fairly new. Don't think there was such a thing when I got the BD10 about 9 months ago.
I appreciate how responsive Quilter is to the community. There were complaints about how the XLR out on TB202 would change levels with changes to the Master. After reading the manual for Mach3 it looks like they fixed that.
I kinda don't appreciate the speed with which they make these improvements though :-) I've bought 2 amps and 3 cabs from them in the last 4 years because of new products, and I came very close to buying a SuperBlock with all the good reviews here.
-
Their heads seems to cover it all, from the 25W superblocks to this 2 channel/200W model. Hmmm... maybe they have a hole that could be filled by a 1 channel/100W model.
-
Didn't there used to be a separate "Steelaire" 15" cabinet? I no longer see it. Maybe this is a rebranding. [EDIT: not exactly, the new cab have a slot for a head. Maybe it's the same speaker, tho']

"My only complaint, not really a complaint but, rather, an observation, is that the head isn't easily removable like on the Quilter BlockDock series. An early you tube posted by Quilter stated that head was easily removable (the head is identical to the Aviator Mach 3 Head sold separately). In fact, you need to remove six wood screws to remove the head - not something I'm likely to do at a gig. It would be nice to remove the head and place it on top so the controls face forward rather than facing up. Forward facing controls would be a little more convenient."
