I've been looking for an acoustic that felt good as well as sounded good, and was in Wolfe Guitars here in Jupiter to check out Quilter stuff when I saw this guitar hanging up. After maybe 30 seconds I knew it was coming home. Now...for suggestions on strings. The current strings are 10's, and I was thinking Martin Retro 12's...thoughts?

Congrats! If you’re open to bronze I was once recommended John Pearse 80/20 in this forum when I asked a similar question and couldn’t be happier.

Martin Retros will be warmer than 80/20's so it is worth trying both and seeing what you like. I like D'Addario 80/20's on an acoustic archtop myself. Those strings were developed long ago in conjunction with John D'Angelico, a man who knew a thing or two about archtop guitars.

I find the D'Addario strings to be a smoother feel on the fingertips than the Martin strings.

I think I have a pack in my string stash...are we thinking 12's?

That would be a good place to start.

Been wanting to bump into one of these for a while. What would you compare it to?
