I have a carved 805CE with the set in humbucker. I am considering a fully acoustic 805 non-cut for big-band rhythm, but I am wondering if it will sound any better/louder/brighter. Are all their carved tops basically all the same?

Fro. My experience they all use the thinner tops and backs like out of the Benedetto modern sounding archtop guitars. That's been an 805CE 810CE,JP880, 803CE I have previously owned.

This is opposed to say Gibson Johnny Smith thicker top and back builds. Which have more mids in there sound. The Eastmans have more highs and lows and less mids akin to a flat top. That's probably overstating it but it gives you an idea.

I have a feeling that I know which Eastman you are referring to...

I'm just wondering if anyone knows if the fully acoustic carves are different from the "electric" ones.

Maybe worth a shot to directly write them, and including some specific questions about bracing differences, brace wood difference, lacquer, etc, just to force not being answered by the very first salesman who reads it.

The other thing comes in mind as a benefit: surely less thing will buzzing resonating in it compared to one with a pu. (Also a decent feeling to have a authentic shaped instrument, although talking authentic, I would give a chance for a Loar 700 too, this way it is guaranteed, there will be difference, dilemma soved)

Well certain electric models are parallel braced vs X bracing, if that's what you're asking about. But the 810,805, and JP880 I believed are X braced construction

Thanks, but I don't like the Loar's big v-neck. I had to sell my original Loar period 20's L5 because of that.

Ah thanks, I checked my 805CE and it is X. I should have mentioned that mine is the smaller 15" version. The 805 acoustic would be a bump up to 16". Most of the time I use my Sadowsky JB because our band is very loud and we rehearse in a very reverberant legion hall on a tiled floor. So my 805CE gets little use because of feedback issues. But often I want a brighter more acoustic tone for rhythm. Here's a small clip sample of the volume level from a performance, and mic'd too.
