I am considering a 15 in Victor Baker, but I have noticed that his website hasn't changed over the last few years. I remember that he moved to San Diego a couple of years ago, but haven't heard anything since then.

I think ClubBass stopped selling them recently too.

Any thoughts?

I've noticed his asking price for his instrument has almost doubled from a few years back. Maybe he's got a long wait list? Hard business a d hope he's doing well!

I just got a reply from ClubBass. They said he has some serious Covid related delays.

I know his website still says the base model is $4700, but I suspect that isn't true anymore.

Maybe I will wait for one to pop up on Reverb.

Victor is very active on Facebook and visibly busy with a constant stream of instruments.

Hi!

Regarding Victor Baker, he is building the same good stuff as always but yes, now out of his “new” San Diego shop. Even though his website is not changing much, the price list is up to date. And of course the move made it possible to keep the prices on a decent level. I know he has a waiting list as of now but you can be on his waiting list at no cost. From what I know he will start to take new orders again at the end of this year. I think a model 15 now is around $6K plus shipping and a case (typically RB Continental Voyager). All of course depending on what you want in terms of wood, finish, inlays and so on.

Nothing new I guess, but just my 2 cents.

London? I remember when he made that one. As a matter of fact, I told VB I want this color. Unfortunately, I am in Sacramento, California. I know it does say Local Pick Up Only, but any idea of the shipping cost?

I am going to consider this one.

There's a red Model 14 with no sound hole available in Canada for $3400 US. I'd be happy to get you the seller's info if you'd like. I'm trying to reach him about a set neck VBT that he's also selling.
