I talked to an older gent in Phoenix who owns a higher end classical guitar store and asked him what do You take out on Gigs? He said for the last 30 years or so he plays a Takamine classical/electric. Which he did not sell. The model I found used retails for about 1400$ now new but used ones can be found for about 700$. I have owned a Cordoba Negra something which was about 1400$ and while it sounded good the electronics were Chinese crap IME. Many top rock and country players Springsteen, Eagles, Garth, and Alan Jackson play Taks. There must be a good reason. I have one of these guitars and rarely play it that I would not mind selling or trading. It comes with a NO hardshell case. I will look up model number and add it. My guitar is an EC-132 SC. You can go to the Takamine website and read and see what this model looks like. They are discontinued but made for Jazz and Samba players. Solid Cedar top and rosewood back and sides. My name is Steve Burchfield at 501-353-0794 if interested. I would want about what I have in it or maybe a trade for a lower end archtop.

I think you cannot beat a used EC-132. I have one with a cedar top that sounds excellent in my living room and has sounded equally excellent on outdoor gigs.

I wrote about considering Takamine guitars yesterday but for some reason it was gone today while other pieces I read yesterday are still up. I wonder why?
