The difference between Gold and TF1018 is very subjective matter. Many ears like Alnico speakers. They sound ”livelier, more natural, 3-D” plus other familiar words from forums.

I'm no speaker expert by a long shot, but the only time I've heard about using the TF1018 as a guitar speaker is at the Quilter site for BlockDock10.
This :made me think you had a BD10, but now I get it.I bought a 10" BlockDock speaker Celestion TF1080 too.
