That sounds right. Maybe it's starting to clear up for you.

I was thinking about the choice the other day, and I kind of came up with this: I don't need to be able to switch between 2 channels anymore, because my gigging days are likely done. Pushing gain and lowering master gets a nice bit of hair for me when I want to hear it. I really don't need to do it instantly these days. I can turn a couple of knobs.

That doesn't necessarily mean I won't try out an OD one day though...

Does the Gold fit the BD10 cab without modification? Also, what's the right technique for getting that grill cover off? You know... just in case... :-) Mine is really hard to budge.
Sorry, but I can’t help with BlockDock questions, I have my own DIY cabins.

But I had to take of the magnet bell of the the 12” Alnico Cream speaker before I could get it fitted. That combo is a Tweed Deluxe sized, not so deep.

The difference between Gold and TF1018 is very subjective matter. Many ears like Alnico speakers. They sound ”livelier, more natural, 3-D” plus other familiar words from forums.

    (Edit: added a pic.)

    Nice little cabin Herbie!

I'm no speaker expert by a long shot, but the only time I've heard about using the TF1018 as a guitar speaker is at the Quilter site for BlockDock10.

    This :
    I bought a 10" BlockDock speaker Celestion TF1080 too.
made me think you had a BD10, but now I get it.

    Thanks for your reply.
