I'm a sucker for the vintage sunburst that I see on Gibson L5s and ES-175s.

I'm in the $1k to $2k max price range, and want that look, but I don't find many builders that have a convincing sunburst like that.

    What would you recommend?

Thanks Gitfiddler. I see that Eastman makes some good bursts.

Which Ibanez models do you think come close to the Gibson vintage sunburst?

Check out used GB10; GB10SE or new LGB10. They are all in your price range and have beautiful Brown Sunburst finishes.
These are only a few examples of their Full Hollow archtops. Their wide selection and consistent high quality sets them apart from other brands in the sub-$2k price point. The very best are their Japan builds, so don't rule out used.

There are other brands to consider as well.

Seventy-Seven makes some really nice bursts, though I'm not sure what prices are like for them these days.

Peerless makes some great guitars with great bursts. Their laminate guitars are well under $2000.
