Mark and I collaborated on the Cameo I now own. It is the 4th he created. It is on page six of his gallery.

Mark created the Cognac finish when I changed my mind when he sent me an intermediate photo of the sunburst finished. I loved it and he went from there.

Your Cameo is beautiful. The Cognac finish is really pretty. I remember seeing Mark’s first Cameo at the Long Island Guitar Show, many years ago. It was spectacular. Several years later, a good friend of mine ordered Mark’s second Cameo and I have played that guitar. I have been a big fan of Mark ‘s guitars for a long time.

Which Carr model are you using?

The special is more beautiful even than an L-5. Amazing

It seems that many players prefer a shallower body than the L-5 standard. Do you find aby difference in amolified tone? A little less bass?

The standard L-5's body shape amplified tone is to me unbeatable, but i could understand perfectly if it makes your back ache or is not easy to transport. I found my Wesmo weight too much.
Beside 11/16 nut width is too small for fingeroicking.

I have two Specials. One is 3 1/8” deep and the other is 3” deep. The shallower one is also 1/2” shorter (like a Gibson Johnny Smith). Acoustically, the larger body has a little deeper sound than the other. The larger body is probably slightly louder, but barely noticeable. I have an L5C with a Johnny Smith pickup, and it is quite a bit brighter than either of the Campellones.

My Campellone was a custom model made for forum member Vinnyv1k. It has the L-5 body length with a built in humbucker and parallel bracing, but it has a slightly shallower body than a Gibson (3 inches) and a shorter scale than a Gibson (25.0 scale). I also have a Gibson L-5 Wes Montgomery. The Campy is much warmer than the Gibson tone wise.
