My 52 ES 350 through a Mambo jazz amp. When you pick a little harder, it gets that throaty sound that you sometimes hear on Barney Kessel's recording too.
Another happy latin rendition and a personal favorite: "I'll Remember April."

P.S. There's a 1947 ES 350 for sale in the "for sale" section right here ...

DB and Fred Archtop. Two of the finest players on this forum, imo.

I always judge a guitar on it’s lows more so than it’s highs.
It doesn’t get better than that. Sweet !!!
Those old P90’s were special. A new one isn’t the same for some reason.
I don’t now if age has something to do with it but those 1950’s Tal recordings sounded pretty darn good too. The plywood was better back then also.
Perfect tone for sure

Now, I have a dream...When we are out of this shit and we can travel again, it'd like to take a guitar and visit for real my friends musicians I have over the internet. And you'll be on the tour! I've always enjoyed your playing. I like when you switch on the burners like on this tune. You are stronly connected to Tal, that's obvious.

Another good one, DB.

Sounds great! Was the scale length longer on those early 350's? I know eventually they got very short.

04-25-2021, 01:50 PM #20Dutchbopper GuestThe ES 350 always had a 25.5" scale length, just like the L5. It has a full sized 3.5" body and it was produced from 1947 until 1956. After that the thinline ES 350t followed, which had a scale length of 23.5". So the full sized ES 350 was abandoned. I once played a 1950s ES 350t and it had a tiny neck indeed. Later ES 350t reissues in the 70s and 90s had a 25.5" neck again.
