I have read JZ's postings on this amp head. Just curious as to what others think. Also, what cab works best for you. This head is reasonable price at $550 nonreveb model. Quilter 50 sells for $429. DV Mark micro jazz 60 sells normally at $349.

Mark Kleinhaut uses a Luna, and has many clips on the forum, if you want to hear one. He's the enabler who caused my GAS. So far I've been able to hold out, but I just have to take it day by day.

I was looking at Mark's videos also. Both him and JZ is a powerful endorsement for the Luna 200. IMHO I believe it based on the merits of the amp and not paid endorsements or anything like that.

I have the Luna 200R, and I like it! A couple different guitars and a couple different cabs - it sounds great with all of them!

I'd definitely go for the R version. The reverb is great, although with a bit of hiss on higher settings on mine. But I'd also look seriously at Quilter's Tone Block 202. I don't have one, just an earlier ProBlock, which also has great reverb but otherwise a less pleasing tone. On the current thread on Quilter 101, "Herbie" - a respected countryman of mine - says good things about the TB. Importantly, it has three voicing options and, apparently, is less bright and nasal than the predecessors. A Gain knob brings at least bit of "lint" to the tone on demand. Against this, the Luna is more of a one-trick pony, even if it does the trick very well. I don't find the variable mid-EQ notch of too much value. Left knob at 9 o'clock and right knob at noon, says Jack Zucker. So be it.
