My 17" Campellone missed being around her family, so being a good guitar parent I decided to get her some company, the 16" x 3" Deluxe on the right. I had the guitar on loan for a trial period, and finally decided to take the dive. I'm really impressed with Mark's 16" guitars, and I've played several that are thinner, e.g., 2+". This guitar sounds and is remarkable in every respect. It's a shorter scale, 24.75", vs 25" on the 17. The built-in KA pickup is awesome, and played through the Sequel Skoter it compliments the acoustic nature of the guitar really better than I would have imagined. I've been on a floater kick for quite a while, but this is truly amazing and has renewed my appreciation for the built-in p/u. And, they look like sisters.

Wow -- both beautiful! Congrats!

A pair of beauties! Mark’s guitars are really remarkable.

Sky-congrats !! What a pair of beauties. I actually had my Campellone out today for some play time. Wishing you many hours of enjoyment.

I really like the 16 with built in PU..

Could you elaborate on the plugged in tone difference? I realize the 17" acoustically will be a bit fuller. I've been contemplating going with a built in humbucker for my Elferink Tonemaster archtop 16" which currently has a floater.
Thanks John D

two beautiful examples of the art of the archtop guitar. May they both inspire your playing for many years to come.

Gorgeous! The Deluxe is the epitome of tasteful elegance. Just exquisite. Congratulations, and play it in good health!

Sky,
That is so cool bro.
There like brother and sister!
You got some real beauties bro. Enjoy them. You deserve them!

Steve, way to go buddy. We both know riding the Campellone train is one sweet ride. Congrats my friend. I am sure that 16 is a 175 on major steroids. Mark has archtops down to a exact consistent science.
No turds leave his shop. Do enjoy !
-
Congratulations Steve! How close are they in age? The finishes appear very close in shading.
Hats off to single humbucker arch tops!
-
Interesting custom features on that Deluxe.
-no badge inlay on headstock.
-dots instead of keystone inlays on fretboard.
What does the label say?
"Deluxe Custom"?

They're both great, with quite different tone and feeling, with the Deluxe being more analogous to a fruit forward wine, compared to a Rhone style of a fuller bodied guitar. It want's me to dig in a little more, if that makes any sense. I'm still trying to comprehend the difference, which I expect is part of the learning.

SS, Thanks. Nice guitars help, that's for sure. And Mark's guitars certainly are nice! I appreciate the encouragement!

Thank you Joe. You make me want to be a better player brother!

Thanks Greg!

Steve,
Both of your Campellone guitars are exquisite. I too have had a plethora of guitars,
currently five Gibsons and four others ,including my Deluxe Campellone, which is
truly outstanding. I cannot resist adding positive comments on MarK C's guitars
he deserves all of the accolades attributed to him, a very nice man to deal with who
becomes a friend when one has had the " Campy experience"
I predict the Marque will rank with the very best guitar builders before too long.

Taking "the dive" was a smart move, beautiful guitar(s). The new acquisition has to be worth one, possibly two new songs! Enjoy.

A Campellone is as good as it gets. Like QAman I had my Campellone out over the weekend and it just almost plays itself. You have a perfect type guitar with the Wes 16 inch thing going. My guess is that for overall playing jazz of any type you now have found with this guitar, you might get another but it won't be better......maybe different but not better. Play the frets off it!
-
Deacon, thank you! I agree with everything you said here, and appreciate the encouragement. Regarding the frets, I'm not sure what frets Mark defaults to, and I wonder what percentage of his customers specify a preference. I'm a medium jumbo kind of guy, and I like the evo gold, and that's what they seem to be. I can't imagine ever wearing them off, and I usually stop when my fingers get sore, which means several hours. And I do need to share with the others. I'm a guitar polygamist! You're awesome.

The last 4 digits of the serial number on the label are 0412. I think that makes it an April, 2012. The 17" on the left is the 2011. December. These guitars are 4 months apart. Wow!
-
We all know what's better than a 16" Campellone.
