I was unaware of Doug Harrison until I moved back to Canada. I assume he has at least some sort of affiliation with the 12th Fret. I think the GB model is just stunning but I have no idea what they're like in person or what they sound like. Can anyone fill me in?

I've admired his work from afar as well. They seem like well Bespoke Guitars! Never have had the pleasure of actually playing one though. I also would love to try another Canadian luthier Peter Hopkins guitar as well.

I know Doug. He builds beautiful guitars. The GB model was designed for Gary Benson, who was an excellent guitarist playing around Toronto for years. Sadly, Gary passed away a few years back. As you are aware, it is a small body guitar, perfect for gigging. Doug’s 17” carved guitars are beautiful and on par with the best. 12th Fret in Toronto will occasionally get one in on consignment if you watch their site. Doug’s website is here: Harrison Guitars

The size of the GB is one of the attractions. The biggest guitar I can handle is probably a 16" but a 14.75" thinline is just about perfect for me. There's a used one here in Canada for a pretty reasonable price but I would still have to do some serious machinations to make the money work so it's probably a bit of a fantasy but it sure ticks a lot of my boxes.

Wonderful player, great sound. This concert is also worth watching:

Jim:
Doug divides his time between building guitars and fixing them at the repair shop connected to the Twelfth Fret. He's worked on a few of my guitars over the years, and is a very nice, soft-spoken, humble guy, who builds really nice guitars!
I'll follow up w/you off-line...

His gallery there is well worth a view. Beautiful guitars!
