I am looking to buy yet another clip on guitar tuner. Over the years I have had a few--quality varies with different tuners. I play guitar and double bass. I clip the tuner either on the headstock or bridge (Double bass). I am looking for a quality tuner that can 'swivel' in all directions--vertical / horizontal / at an angle. Some tuners do not do that. Any recommendations?

Doesn't meet your criteria, 'cos it doesn't swivel in all directions, but the tc electronic polytune is the best tuner I've found. Easy to read display, really stable tuning, solid construction - hasn't fallen apart like the last couple I had. Perhaps someone can suggest something as good as the polytune with a swivel mount?

Purchased a Peterson Strobe clip-on tuner not too long ago. Most accurate tuner I ever encountered. The sweetener settings are great for compensating for differnt instruments' shortcomings.

Korg SH-CS100. Superb tuner. Moves vertically and horizontally and uses a conventional battery. I love mine.

After trying many, including clip, and also different smartphone apps, I settled with this, browser based one Online Guitar Tuner with Microphone, Free Guitar Tuning

I’ve got a Snark, which is fine but looks funny.
I bought these fairly recently and keep them on my 2 main gigging guitars...virtually unobtrusive, which is a plus for playing live.

Though having seen a lot of COVID video concerts by famous musicians these days, I would say the stigma of the visible tuner has worn off.

recently got one of these daddario ones
it swivels , takes a cr2032 , tunes quite
quickly , visability good , strong clip
auto off ....
I like it slightly better than my previous
Snark HZ
cheaper too

Hmm, I wish it wasn't bright red.

I think most other clip-ons detract from the aesthetic beauty of the guitar. At some point I bought enough of them to just leave clipped on the guitars I play the most - they are low profile and never have a problem fitting right into the guitar case/bag - so no clipping on/off or wondering where your tuner is. They are also inexpensive.

Its tiny, really nice display, easy to read, but sure is not accurate. I got three to do what Bickertrules suggests... one on each regular player and was disappointed. All three varied different amounts compared to a Peterson strobe.
A swing and a miss)

They come other colors -- I just got one of these that's all black. I've been using Snarks for quite a while because they tune well and swivel pretty much infinitely, but they're also fragile (I've broken 3 of them), and the pad on the clamp falls off (and is easily lost), so I give up on them. So far so good with the D'addario (which appears not to have the same weak spots as the Snark), but it's only been a week. I don't trust myself not to either destroy or lose a Polytune or a Peterson.

I have a couple on the guitars I use most, and I like them. You have to learn that the correct display when tuned is a small bar both over and under, but once you learn what the correct tuning looks like it's easy and accurate. It attaches semi-permanently by replacing one screw in one tuner, and it can't be seen at all from the front. It won't work on a guitar that has no screws holding the tuners, but most do. It doesn't meet the OP's requirements, because it doesn't swivel or take multiple positions, although it does rotate to some degree around the screw for adjusting the viewing angle. Cheap enough.
Since I've been at home for months without going out, I've started using a tuner on the computer. I run Linux, and use Lingot as a tuner. It has a strobe display mode, very fast and accurate, and very configurable. It seems to be faster and more accurate than any clipon I've tried, and I have several on the shelf.

another vote for the peterson strobo clip..the most accurate clip on out there...& good swivel
superior to the snarks

cheers

The Peterson is so good I use it professionally in doing set ups and guitar repairs. Highly recommended.

Uh jimmy, just what age are these ‘ladies’ that like that tuner?

Thanks guys for your replies--much appreciated.

I have a Peterson Strobotuner but just use it for set ups. Being so accurate makes tuning a much more drawn out affair than I want for day to day playing. And I don't like being constantly reminded that I need to adjust the bridge a little.
I like the Kliq models on Amazon. The display is very easy to read. The ergo's are about the same as a Snark. They come in basic black and aren't too large. Basic 2032 battery. On the flip side, the auto off takes too long and I wish the on/off was on the front rather than the side. Have to buy them on sale and they seem to go on sale less often.

Uh, I have a gig at a cathouse. They make me dress up like a mouse. Let's not ask any more questions about that, OK?

+ 1 for the Snark which I've used with double bass and guitar for years. Easy to read in a dim club too.

I had an Artisan tuner/metronome Clip-on. It worked well, and you could adjust metronome volume. It was fragile, however, with a faulty compartment for the coin battery. The cover got loose and keeps the battery from making good contact, causing power loss.
-
I bought this recently - so far so good. Seems sturdy. Has loud metronome with adjustable volume, along with Tuner and a tone generator for tuning by ear. I am impressed so far.

Had a snark was decent but unfortunately a battery life sucker, I changed to a Petersen Strobo clip after reading so many positive reviews here.
