I think you could find a 1940’s non-cut Gibson L7 or Epiphone Triumph in this price range. They are both fabulous guitars from the golden age of archtops. I know that prices on Reverb, etc. may be higher than this, but I believe you could eventually find one somewhere if you are patient. You may have to settle for one that needs a little work, but that shouldn’t be a major concern, as long as it doesn’t have structural problems (headstock repair, etc.).
