    Aria Pro II ES-345 copy-d560fe49-ec10-4bc0-bbd1-351422747167-jpeg

This showed up on Craigslist and caught my attention. 1981, Made in Japan copy of an ES-345 with a Varitone control. Not particularly expensive.

    Thinking about it.

I had one of those back in the day (damn, near enough 35 years ago).

Really nice guitar, easy to play.

    Buy it....

Varitone is a great addition, I also tapped the humbuckers, something like 30 plus different combinations.
I would suggest not to do this as it would blow my mind trying to remember my favourite combinations...

    Ah, the impetuosity of youth......

I have a Gibson ES-345, and I love it. An incredibly versatile tone machine, it was my #1 for many years. The Arias are by all accounts well made instruments. I wound jump on that ASAP.

I don't know what it is but vintage Arias all seem to play great w low action and perfect neck profiles. I have a couple I gig with and wish some of my old Gibsons played as well and had that neck profile.

That varitone is brilliant. The way I saw it used was for each of the three pickup selections there are 1 or 2 really good choices. Beautiful guitar btw
