Yes

No, they are not known to be "good," but more typically "great!"

Give Steve a call, and search here for other reviews.

Stephen has carefully researched laminated plates (which he presses himself using a hard drying glue) and they sound very good. I really like my 16" X 2.75" Holst laminated guitar!

May I suggest that you forget about You Tube, you have made the right approach asking advice here

Yes, they are great. I had a 16" x 2.25" built in 2011 or 2012. Eventually moved it along for an Andersen but the Holst was a great guitar.

They are absolutely wonderful.
You'll love it; and then...them,

I've had a couple of his laminate guitars. I think they're terrific, and he's great to work with.

Some really nice ones in this thread already!

Holst's guitars are beautiful. Along this line, how does Holst compare to Sadowsky? (Acoustically.)
-
This is an "it depends" sort of question, since Steve offers many options in terms of dimensions, etc.! So: what if we compared (acoustically) a Holst with a similarly designed Sadowsky?

Those Semi-hollows are beautiful (as they sll are). Pretty reasonable too, damn, esp. with as many options - how open he is to doing different things.

How "different?" [He's pretty open, but maybe not "Flying V" open!]
-
Similar dimensions, smaller body models. (14.75-15) a la Sadowsky Jimmy Bruno. Is Holst more alive, acoustically? I hear so much about his lam plates.

Actually, Steve Holst builds to the customer's specs. He doesn't make any "standard" models. If you want something the size of a Sadowsky Jimmy Bruno, he'll build one for you. It will be a different guitar, of course, but he'll build any size guitar you want within reason.
-
I'm just wondering if his laminates sound better acoustically.

Never having played a Sadowsky I can't answer that question. It'd be hard to say without having both guitars at hand to compare, but I'd venture to guess that they'd both be very good. That said, if acoustic sound is your priority a solid wood guitar might be a better choice.
