hah...funny, i just read that interview the other day...trying to figure out what was going on with hrw pickup...he was very tight lipped about it...supposedly a reworked schaller golden 50's pickup

It's definitely a modified Schaller, which is a fine PAF-like pup. The most plausible secret for the HRW is that the Schaller is frozen in liquid nitrogen. I have heard that from others at Heritage over the years, although it's supposed to be a secret. I asked Ren Wall face to face. He smiled but didn't deny it.

^ yes thanks mg ...am aware of cryogenics...but while it might alter the magnetic gauss numbers a bit..and maybe even the coil wire to change the resistance a bit...i don't know if that would be enough to re-label the pickup name...could be..but


if that's all...i'm not so impressed

the great pup man lindy fralin also experimented with "deep freeze" years ago
